So last week I shared a post on the Do’s and Don’ts for expectant mum’s, highlighting the Do’s and promising to share the Don’ts this week. Here it is! We need to be careful about the measures we take as we carry our fragile babies in us. Read below:
Avoid packing up pounds as they cause health complications. Most pregnant women are made to think that they are “eating for two” so they need to eat so much. This should not be case because you do not need to gain so much weight to have a healthy baby. In fact, heavier moms are a risk for gestational diabetes and hypertension, which can lead to complications. These babies are also often larger, leading to problems during delivery.
Stay away from cigarettes. Smoking during pregnancy passes nicotine and cancer causing drugs to your baby. It prevents the baby from getting nourishment, and puts you at risk for miscarriage or instant death. Alcohol consumption is also terrible for the unborn baby. Any form of illegal drug is also very dangerous to your baby.
Avoid feminine hygiene products such as vaginal sprays, creams and soaps, as these products may irritate your vaginal area, causing yeast or Urinary Tract Infections, thereby creating an unsafe environment for your child.
Watch what you eat: Be careful to wash fruits and veggies properly before you eat. Do not eat raw or undercooked food avoid consuming bacteria or getting sick. Be picky about seafood, as fish like mackerel contain mercury, which is unsafe for the baby.
Don’t come in contact with urine and droppings of rodents. Their droppings contain viruses which are very harmful to the baby.
And finally!!! >>> DON’T FORGET TO USE PREGNACARE PRODUCTS before, during and even after pregnancy, as they are packed with all the essential nutrients needed by you, and your baby!
